Brex - Uploading Receipts

Some handy ways to manage your expenses in Brex

Tips and Tricks from your Co-Workers:

"I take a picture on my phone of all receipts or save via email; the app uploads from iPhone photos seamlessly."

Ways to Upload Receipts:

  • Push notifications
If you have push notifications enabled for card expenses, you can receive an alert when a receipt is needed. In the alert, tap Add receipt and then take a photo of the receipt using the Brex app. You can also choose a photo or screenshot from your gallery. This method is only available on iphones.
  • Email
You can attach a receipt to an expense via email to "receipts@brex.com" and include a memo in the same email. To add a memo, type "memo:" in the email body, followed by your memo text. Please note that if you have to specify a different location than your default, or if you need to change the expense category or GL account, you will need to do that in the app
  • Text
You can text photos of your receipts by replying to the text/SMS notification you receive on your phone, assuming you have entered your mobile number into your Brex profile and enabled SMS/text notifications
  • Expense reimbursements
In the Brex app, tap Request reimbursement and then select Out of pocket or Mileage. When prompted, you can upload one or more receipts by taking a photo or selecting images from your phone's photo library. Brex will automatically read the receipts and pre-fill data.

  • Add card receipts
Go to Wallet or Expenses and click Add card receipts. You can upload XML or CFDI files to a reimbursement by uploading the file on the first screen of the request reimbursement flow. You can also forward the XML file to reimbursements@brex.com. You can attach other file types, such as .img, .pdf, or .jpeg, to the same expense.
